NLP Advanced Language Patterns - Linking
These Linking Patterns are one of the most advanced NLP language patterns you can learn.
NLP advanced language patterns require a very good working knowledge of linking patterns. These Linking patterns are very powerful in directing the mind - particularly if they are linked to something that is verifiably true. The key lies in linking something that you wish to occur - a direction of thinking for example - to something that undeniably exists. How you link that is the structure of this languague pattern. a) Simple: and, but, not. Example - You are reading this and learning easily. b) Implied: As...will, So...as, while, during, before, after, following, when, throughout. Example - As you are reading this you can continue to learn easily. c) Direct Cause-Effect: will make, force, require, because, causes. Example - In fact, just sitting there reading this means you are learning. They tend to be more powerful as Direct Cause-Effect, however a lot of rapport is required. It is usually better to start with the Simple and Implied Linkages first. To be effective with this pattern you want to be able to ascertain the undeniable truths in your situation. These can be as basic as geographic facts: We are in this Training in Detroit and it is all coming together. Cultural Expectations
Culturally we expect anything associated to a 'fact' or 'truth' to more than likely also be true. This is an example of slipstreaming. This is a very important point - the main influencing element here is our cultural tendency to accept the implications of language, not the logical assessment or conclusion. I will mention this several times throughout this document. Your greatest impediment to developing skill with these techniques is to place a demand on yourself to be logical and grammatically correct. One of the main keys for effectiveness with NLP advanced language patterns is in your delivery, the best style with this seems to be: - Deliver the linkage pattern and then keep talking.
- Let the effect sink in as you go.
- This is not a good pattern to stop and then hold silence.
- Silence invites response, which has the capacity to be counter or contrary.
Remember, if you start with Direct Cause-Effect you maybe setting yourself up for challenge. Work your way up to it. When you think about it, the very fact that we are discussing advanced strategies like this really indicates how well you picked up the philosophies covered earlier in this document. This can be simple: Find a fact - link it. Want to say something: Find a fact first - link it. We can use this pattern to lead people into a way of thinking and / or emotions. This can be good for promotional or motivational purposes. While you are in this company it really brings out the best in you. Given with this particular meeting there is a lot of expertise present, we should be able to proceed quite quickly. As it's such a nice day we can go to the park and then dinner afterwards. Keep in mind, these particular NLP advanced language patterns don't stand alone. Your whole presentation does not rely on this one working. It becomes part of the mix and contributes to the whole.
